Since the back pressure is high and the enthalpy drop is small, we improve the thermal design and power design of the low-pressure part to achieve the same power with the water-cooled steam turbine. Compared with the water-cooled steam turbine, the air-cooled steam turbine owns the following characteristics:
- The adoption of the advanced low-pressure casing technology and the through-flow with a smooth access ramp enlarge the axial clearance of the through-flow; both the penultimate stage and the third stage from the last adopt the honeycomb type gland, which plays the role of dehumidification and improving efficiency。
- The last stage’s blades are made of loose lacing wire to change the rigidity and improve the astigmatic capability of the blades.
- There is an exhaust expansion joint between low-pressure exhaust and exhaust device, which can absorb the vertical displacement when equipment operates.
- Increase the stability of bearing–rotor system and reduce vibration.
